What’s this new SAA-C02 exam all about?
The popular AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate exam is intended for IT Professionals who perform a solutions architect or DevOps role and have substantial years of hands-on experience designing available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.
This year, a new version of the AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate exam ( SAA-C02 ) will be available to take on and after March 23, 2020. Take note that the deadline to take the previous AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate exam (SAA-C01) was extended from March to June 30, 2020 only. After this period, you can only take the SAA-C02 exam.
The new AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate exam ( SAA-C02 ) exam has 65 scenario-based questions that you have to complete within 2 hours and 10 minutes (130 minutes in total). Don’t be confused if you see in your Pearson Vue booking that the duration is 140 minutes since they already included an additional 10 minutes for reading the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) at the start of the exam and the survey at the end of it. If you booked in PSI, the exam duration time that you will see is 130 minutes.

2. The official SAA-C02 AWS Guide
There are only 4 domains in the new SAA-C02 version, compared with the previous version which has 5 domains. The new SAA-C02 doesn’t have the Define Operationally Excellent Architectures domain.
The 2 biggest exam domains are the Design Resilient Architectures and Design High-Performing Architectures. You should focus on studying the topics that are related to these two domains. The official SAA-C02 AWS Guide is a helpful tool for you to know all of the required topics:
